If you think the Catholic church has a monopoly on sexual abuse of its adherents, you're sadly mistaken. Mark Lawrence, the founder and director of Restore Our Humanity, joins us in-studio to talk about some of ROH's latest initiatives. Restore Our Humanity is once again blazing a trail to expose rampant sexual abuse within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ROH is also setting up a support network for survivors of sexual abuse at the hands of spiritual leaders within the dysfunctional Mormon religion.

135 - Danielle Muscato Interview with Grant Larimer
Monday Dec 12, 2016
Monday Dec 12, 2016
Danielle Muscato is the former Public Relations Director for American Atheists. She is a civil rights activist, public speaker, writer, debater, musician, and trans* woman whose recent tweet storm calling out president-elect Donald Trump quickly went viral. She's done a ton of media interviews lately, and we were fortunate to have some time open for her to appear as a guest on this episode of the Godless Rebelution.
Grant Larimer was kind enough to join us in-studio as our guest host this week. He'll also be joining us next week for coverage of several news items and rants.
You're welcome!

134 - Jim Helton Interview with Chris Reed
Monday Dec 05, 2016
Monday Dec 05, 2016
Jim Helton is the President of Tri-State Freethinkers and is the Regional Director in Kentucky for American Atheists. He helped organize the protest at the opening of the "Genocide and Incest Park," (A.K.A. Ken Ham's Ark Park). He and his family have been receiving death threats after calling attention to numerous violations of the separation of religion and government in Grand County schools.
Chris Reed is one of the hosts of the Utah Outcasts podcast. We were happy to have him join us in-studio for the interview and the rest of the show to talk about Donald Trump, the recent attack in Ohio, tuskless elephants, Bryan Fischer, Jim Bakker, and Glenn Beck & David Barton.

133 - The 2016 Election Blame Game with Geoff Linville
Monday Nov 28, 2016
Monday Nov 28, 2016
How did Hillary Clinton lose to an orange, pussy-grabbing clown? Who can we castigate for allowing this to happen? More importantly, what can we do to make sure this type of thing doesn't happen again? Geoff Linville joins us in-studio to discuss what went wrong with the 2016 election.
This episode was a lot of fun. We went from being angry at neo-Nazi Trump supporters to laughing so hard we were crying.

131 - Nutty Mormon History with Mythrin
Sunday Nov 13, 2016
Sunday Nov 13, 2016
Don't let any of your Mormon friends hear this episode - they might start questioning their faith.
Mythrin is one of the moderators for the ex-Mormon subreddit, and he's a veritable cornucopia of weird Mormon history. We were delighted to have him join us in-studio for an interview and rundown of some of the more "interesting" things about the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (A.K.A. the Mormon/LDS Church).
You can find Mythrin's blog at this link: Mythrin's Blog

130 - Go Vote!
Monday Nov 07, 2016
Monday Nov 07, 2016
Ryan and Dan are joined in-studio by Grant Larimer once again to fill your earholes with all things atheist, and attempt to impress upon you the importance of your vote. Along the way, we hear from god-botherers who liken Donald Trump to St. Peter and King David.
This episode is the perfect accompaniment to standing in long voting lines and/or assuaging your existential concerns.

129 - It's Halloween!
Monday Oct 31, 2016

128 - 3rd Presidential Debate with Grant Larimer
Thursday Oct 20, 2016
Thursday Oct 20, 2016
We're joined in-studio by the Purple Dragon (A.K.A. Grant Larimer) for coverage of the third and final presidential debate (thank Jebus).
No longer content to sit back while Donald Trump flapped his alternatingly pursed and puckered lips, Clinton handily won this debate. She was calm, prepared, and unafraid of calling Trump out on his bullshit. Trump, on the other hand, was his usual self - boorish, unprepared, ill-spoken,and petulant. We were pleased he didn't sniffle nearly as much during this debate.
Friday Oct 14, 2016
127 - 2nd Presidential Debate with Taylor Grin
Friday Oct 14, 2016
Friday Oct 14, 2016
Taylor Grin joined us via phone to cover the 2nd Presidential debate. This debate was held only two days after the video was released which shows Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting multiple women. It was also marked once again by Trump repeatedly sniffing like a dog whose cocaine-filled chew toy has rolled under the couch.
We wanted to get this out as soon as possible, so there are no quote drops, no ads for other shows, and no song at the end. Even with eliminating those elements, the show clocks in at right about three hours long. You're welcome.
Monday Oct 10, 2016
126 - You Got Perioded On (Return of the Matt)
Monday Oct 10, 2016
Monday Oct 10, 2016
Matt's back!... At least for a few episodes before he jumps into the next round of his EMT training, and he brought his always delightful sister, Meg, with him.
We decided that a recap of the first presidential debate and the vice president debate would be better than full coverage of either of them because so much time has elapsed since they were originally aired, and we cheated by throwing in SNL's skit recapping the debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trumpsterfire.
Monday Oct 03, 2016
125 - What Matters - The Best of Matt Mitchell
Monday Oct 03, 2016
Monday Oct 03, 2016
As promised, this is the “best of” Matt Mitchell episode. Matt brings a whole lot to the show. He’s funny, he’s fiery, and he’s got a quick comedic wit that always leaves us laughing.
You’ll notice as we move through these clips that the sound quality improves with each one. That’s because they're listed in order of appearance from our earliest episodes to the most recent episodes. We’ve made a whole lot of changes over the last 2 ½ years (created an actual studio recording room, upgraded our mic stands, got windscreens to handle “plosive” words, added some mute buttons to cover background coughing, added some shock mounts, changed our editing process, etc.).

124 - Nipple Protrusion Excursion with Grant Larimer: Part Deux
Monday Sep 26, 2016
Monday Sep 26, 2016

Monday Sep 19, 2016
123 - Nipple Protrusion Excursion with Grant Larimer
Monday Sep 19, 2016
Monday Sep 19, 2016
We cover a few different things, including Dan being suspended from Facebook for 24 hours, and a discussion which takes us down the rabbit hole from the starting point of watching a video to an ending point somewhere around talking about old horror movies and Farrah Fawcett. Grant Larimer joins us in-studio on our journey to fill in for Matt who is still busy studying to be an EMT.
We know that gaps in releasing shows are bad, so this is the first of a sort-of two-part episode we recorded to ensure our listeners wouldn't have to go a few weeks without an episode from us. YOU'RE WELCOME.
Tuesday Sep 13, 2016
122 - Commander-In-Chief Forum with Geoff Linville
Tuesday Sep 13, 2016
Tuesday Sep 13, 2016
Geoff Linville joins us in-studio once again to fill in for Matt who is busy studying to be an EMT. We cover the NBC Commander-In-Chief Forum where Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump took the stage for 30 minutes each to answer questions posed by Matt Lauer, as well as questions from the audience.
This is a pretty long show, because we also cover the death of Phyllis Schlafly, the LDS Church trying to cover its tracks, candidate for Utah Governor defends his right to hold a fundraiser with potential voters, and Donald Trump's head is in the clouds - literally. Also, we'll be taking a two-week break after the next show while Ryan attends a wedding and Dan goes on his first cruise.

Prepare to get Kaepernicked as we cover the largest story of the week - San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, refusing to stand for the playing of the National Anthem. Also, the world lost a great man with the death of Gene Wilder; he will be missed.

Monday May 30, 2016
Atheists of Utah was fortunate to be able to work with Dr. Carrier to sponsor this event at the downtown Salt Lake City public library while he is moving across the country.
We apologize for the audio quality not being as good as the talk deserves, but the content is very interesting and informative. We have several friends in the polyamory community and thought we knew a lot about their world, but w learned more during this one talk than we have in the last two or three years combined.
Richard Carrier, Ph.D., is a philosopher and historian with degrees from Berkeley and Columbia, specializing in the contemporary philosophy of naturalism, and in Greco-Roman philosophy, science, and religion, including the origins of Christianity. He blogs and lectures worldwide, teaches courses online at Partners for Secular Activism, and is the author of many books, including his defense of a naturalist worldview in Sense and Goodness without God, his academic case for the non-existence of Jesus in On the Historicity of Jesus, his work on historical methodology in Proving History, his study of ancient science in Science Education in the Early Roman Empire, his responses to 21st century Christian apologetics in Why I Am Not a Christian and Not the Impossible Faith, and an anthology of his papers on the subject of history in Hitler Homer Bible Christ. He has also authored chapters in many other books, and articles in magazines and academic journals, and on his namesake blog, covering subjects from politics and philosophy to feminism and polyamory.

99 - Atheist & Humanist Services at Lackland AFB
Thursday Mar 31, 2016
Thursday Mar 31, 2016
Matt, Dan, and Ryan are joined by Vicki Gettman, Rebekah McGraw, and Scott Smith who tell us all about the fantastic work they're doing to provide atheist and humanist services at Lackland AFB in Texas. They've had months of record-setting attendance for the services they offer in lieu of religious services for people entering the Air Force. They were wonderful guests, and we had a great time learning more about the all-volunteer services they offer to some of our military members.

96 - Democratic Primary Debate IV with Taylor Grin
Friday Mar 11, 2016
Friday Mar 11, 2016
We start this episode with a quick(ish) recap of the March 3 Republican primary debate, which was the most ridiculous of them all. This was the debate where Trump basically said he has a big dick and kept referring to Marco Rubio as "little Marco."
Bernie Sanders came out swinging and delivered quite a few sound bytes that have been picked up by a lot of the major news outlets. We all thought he did a much better job during this debate than he has in any prior debate, and that he handily beat Clinton.

95 - A Troll in Our Midst
Thursday Mar 03, 2016
Thursday Mar 03, 2016
It's been a long time since it was just the three of us with no guest and where we're not covering a debate. So it's about time, right?
We cover a few news items and talk about a religious troll who decided to offer his wizdumb on a post on our Facebook page.
We'll be covering the Democratic primary debate next week, and we've got a special bonus episode lined up with some friends across the pond. Stay tuned!

94 - GOP Primary Debate VIII
Friday Feb 26, 2016
Friday Feb 26, 2016
This was, by far, our favorite debate so far, but only because it turned into a total shit-show. The amount of mudslinging was EPIC.
None of the candidates did themselves any favors this go-around. The numbers won't shift much, if at all. Any changes in the poll numbers will probably be a dip in Trump's numbers, with the losses being split between Cruz and Rubio.
We also had to admit that we actually learned something from Donald Trump during the debate. We feel dirty now.

89 - GOP Primary Debate VI
Wednesday Jan 20, 2016
Wednesday Jan 20, 2016
It really doesn't feel like we've had five shows since the last Republican primary debate. The good(...?) news is that we'll be skipping the next one.
This debate was most notable for a moment between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. Cruz tries to bash "New York values," and rather than shout him down, Donald Trumpenstein showed us all that despite the rumors, there's actually a human being under that thing he calls his hair.
We also break down (with facts!) some of the more egregious lies spouted by a few of the people on stage - we're looking at YOU, Chris Christie.
Ryan won't be with us next week, but he'll be back the following week to chat with our guest, Atheists of Utah President, Felicia Entwistle.
Wednesday Jan 13, 2016
88 - With Geoff Linville
Wednesday Jan 13, 2016
Wednesday Jan 13, 2016
We had a great time with Geoff Linville, a former Mormon, who joined us in-studio to tell us about his de-conversion story and life in Utah as an atheist.
We also cover a few news stories, including one where Dan was interviewed to provide an atheist's perspective on the Provo Fire Department and Police Department purchasing commemorative badges featuring the new LDS temple in their city.
American Atheists President, David Silverman, will be joining us in-studio in one month! Be sure to grab a copy of his book, Fighting God: An Atheist Manifesto for a Religious World, so you can send in any questions you'd like us to ask him!
