33 - The Mistakes of Jesus, Part 1

December 18th, 2014

Josh Fullmer, an anthropologist of religion, and Beth Contreras, gourmet toffee maker, join us to discuss part one of a series of episodes discussing the myriad problems surrounding the biblical and historical accounts of Jesus' life.

Ryan is in Wisconsin this week, presumably eating a pant-load of cheese and consuming his own weight (x3) in beer, so we don't have a fancy intro (and missed him TERRIBLY), but we had a lot of fun picking apart some of the silly bits of Jesus' conception and early life.

32 - Morality with Josh Sroka

December 11th, 2014

Josh Sroka, a philosophy student, joins us as a guest for this episode.

We planned to focus on a discussion about the various and most prevalent arguments for the existence of a god which are used by religious apologists during their debates. We did cover many other arguments, but a large portion of the show centered around morality. Does objective morality exist, or are our morals purely subjective? How do we decide which is correct?

Be sure to check out the Podcast Phil website and contribute what you can. We're hoping to make microphilanthropy work via the principle of "those with little, giving to those with less," and that our combined efforts can lead to positive changes in the lives of those around us.

31 - With Greg Hawkins
